96 percentage Progress in the Hajama–Sawah Railway Project by Boland Payeh Company

On Wednesday, July 24, 2025, Mr. Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi, Iraq's Minister of Transport, visited Al-Muthanna Governorate to inspect the Hajama–Sawah railway project and announced that the project has reached 96% completion.

During the visit, a meeting was held with senior officials from Iraq's Ministry of Railways and executives from the Iranian company Boland Payeh, the project contractor. The Minister of Transport emphasized the need to accelerate the implementation process and complete the project.

The Hajama–Samawah railway project spans 43 kilometers and includes three major bridges over the Euphrates River and two stations. This project is among the strategic plans of the Iraqi government, being executed with the support of the Prime Minister and under the constant supervision of the Ministry of Transport. It is expected to play a key role in facilitating the transportation of pilgrims during religious occasions.
